The story, script, and artwork for the Mars Frontier graphic novel are complete, with final lettering now underway. The team is exploring publication through a Kickstarter campaign as well as traditional publishers.
A Stellar Creative Team
The graphic novel brings together a veteran comics team:

- Ian Tien — co-creator and writer
- Shahriar Fouladi — editor (IDW, Image)

- Taylor Esposito — letterer (Harley Quinn, Red Hood, DC)
The project also draws on years of concept and production art from artists including Abe Taraky (God of War), Lee Stringer (Star Wars), and Eric Williams (Dungeons & Dragons).
A Legacy of Collaboration
Mars Frontier began as a fact-based, educational game about interplanetary colonization developed out of a Stanford graduate research project. When the market for a science-education title proved too small, the team — led by co-creators Ian Tien and Conrad Tien — reimagined it as a science-fiction war game, arming NASA-inspired rover designs and building out the world that now anchors the graphic novel.
The book is aimed at players and fans of the original game, young adult readers 13 and up, and science fiction and comic enthusiasts alike.
